Event Insurance:
Occidental Community Council covers insurance for Open-House Events sponsored by the council. To confirm, email [email protected]
Short-term usage/event Insurance may be obtained online by going to www.opendoorins.com or https://theeventhelper.com/#
[Budget $120 and up, depending on the type of usage]
Provide Staffing:
Set up and clean up crew (about 6 are helpful)
Advertising:
For local events, word of mouth and banner/sandwich boards are most effective.
Social Media Posts (such as Next Door, or on the Occidental website) are also effective.
For Occidental /Council website event posts, contact Melinda Hershon at [email protected]
For a local radio spot announcement, contact Laura Goldman at KOWS radio, [email protected]
Set up:
Tables and Chairs: Located beneath the stage. Please return any used items to their original storage location. There is seating for 60, plus three serving tables.
Serving Tables: Rolls of white paper and clamps are in the storage closet. Fill out ingredient cards for potluck items to avoid food allergy issues.
Supplies: Bingo equipment, plastic boxes, and other supplies (standing signs, notecards, tape, and name tags) are all on-site in the storage room.
Welcome table at the entrance: Create your own sign-in sheet. There are tickets (ie, for limiting alcoholic drinks if served, or raffles), and Council promotion materials. Pens and plastic boxes are also available in storage.
Entertainment: You will need to supply your own sound system for background music and a microphone for announcements.
Prizes and give-aways should be non-monetary to avoid the need for State licensing.
